🔗 Share this article Unveiling an Unusual Steam Demo: Controlling a Poop with the Goal to Arrive at the Toilet Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and players have found plenty of engaging independent titles. But, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled platformer features a hero that is actually a dung striving to make its way to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" means "poop." The gameplay is straightforward: you only need a single jump button. Across one hundred fifty stages, battle mini-bosses and access a store to acquire outfits for your poop character. Execute your actions precisely, as a error means starting over. Jump on bubbles to launch the poop higher, traverse disappearing ledges, and touch switches to reveal hidden paths. Collect coins and use them on tougher levels where things ramps up. Graphically, the demo shows off neon level designs and an amazing soundtrack. Its minimalist art of moving basic polygons evokes memories of players of beloved games like Earthbound. Even though difficult to think of similar titles where you are a piece of feces, gaming have long incorporated fecal matter. For instance, in Death Stranding, players create explosives from protagonist waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as soil enrichment. And of course, this theme appears heavily in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth. Regardless of its silly concept, Unko Technica has already garnered impressive accolades, including taking top honors at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. The demo is accessible at present on Steam, with the complete version scheduled to launch on PC this November.
